Hello vs Ocean-WP themes comparison
Today we are concerned with the comparison Ocean-WP vs Hello. I discuss the best features of each theme, where I will not list all the small details, it must remain interesting this article. As said before, I discuss the themes 1 by 1 and give my total opinion at the end. In the various points that are discussed, I often give a direct opinion which theme is clearly better in that aspect.
OCEAN-WP REVIEW (Ocean-WP vs Hello)
In this OceanWP Theme review we discuss the free and premium versions of this beautiful theme. The OceanWP Theme has been installed on 600,000+ Wordpress websites and downloaded 2.5 million times. Those are numbers that will stand out. Why is this theme so popular? When looking at OceanWP's rating, it is immediately noticeable that it is also very high. The rating that can be practically rounded to 5/5 as shown in the picture below is of the quality of that of Astra and Generatepress which are also OceanWP's closest competitors.
OceanWP Theme review: Speed
The main difference between OceanWP and the 2 aforementioned closest competitors is that OceanWP has put the emphasis more on top design (especially for web shops) and Astra and Generatepress on speed. OceanWP is also built on speed but not as forced as the other 2. The image above shows that OceanWP scores 98%, ie of 100 sites, 2 were faster than OceanWP. It is important to consider for yourself what is more important. A site that loads everything within a second can of course be called top fast and speed is one of the good features of OceanWP which makes it so popular.
OceanWP: Beautiful design
So the design is something that has been given more than enough attention by the OceanWP team and it shows. The theme shows a beautiful design on all devices and the demo websites offered are of very high quality. See photo below.
And for Woocommerce...
OceanWP: Woocommerce extensions
The OceanWP theme has also been perfected on Woocommerce, the most popular webshop system in the world for Wordpress. Not only for customization of its design, but it offers a host of conversion enhancing gadgets. For example the so-called native cart pop-up. After you put an item in your basket, a pop-up will appear to encourage you to pay. This alone would bring about 8% more conversion. There are a number of Woocommerce modules that you can view on their own site.
To be fair, we have to admit in this review for OceanWP that the theme is one of the best for creating webshops. If you want to have a perfectly working shop that looks fantastic, OceanWP is your theme.
OceanWP: Core extensions
The premium version offers access to all core extensions (see photo below). The possibility to build a full screen site with scroll, the practically mandatory cookie notification, a customizable pop-up login, the removal of the OceanWP label in the footer, beautiful portfolios, the aforementioned Woocommerce extensions, a sticky footer , and hooks (more for professional builders).
OceanWP review: Video
In the video below from OceanWP itself, you will quickly be made aware of the benefits of the OceanWP theme. The video only lasts 48 seconds.
The regular "to-go" premium price is $ 59. Especially if you are going to use the theme for a shop, this is a very good price. There are practically no better themes for building web shops. Now during the quarantine you get the premium version for $ 31 already.
OceanWP theme review: Conclusion
My conclusion is that OceanWP is a fantastic theme that is definitely worth the money. The theme is perfect for web shops, has a great design, is easy to operate and loads very quickly. That's basically all a good theme needs. It just lacks a good page builder to finish it.
HELLO THEME (Ocean-WP vs Hello)
In April 2020, Elementor released its own theme, the Hello Elementor theme. Not a bad idea because many people wondered which theme to use with Elementor, that is now more or less clear.
Since Elementor has so many possibilities, there is sometimes a battle between Elementor and a Wordpress theme, which also offers the same possibilities. That is redundant and not necessary. People prefer to use a theme like Hello Elementor, which leaves everything to the page builder but in itself offers a stable basis for the website.
Of course there are also themes such as Astra Pro which is also fully focused on Elementor and only extends it extra. Such a theme is of course a lot better than Hello, but one must have a great knowledge of themes and page builders to know this at all.
Hello has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Wordpress.org. A number of people apparently expect something special and think it is too basic, at least that is my conclusion. However, it is seen that the theme has already been installed on 600.000+ websites despite its short existence, which is unprecedented.
HELLO LOADING TIME
We are doing 2 tests, the first without a cache plugin, the second with the best cache plugin installed, WP-Rocket. As expected, the theme loads very quickly, it is after all a minimalist theme.

With WP-Rocket cache plugin
Creating a child theme is not that difficult, but you still need to know how. For those of you who don't know, on Github becomes a ready-made child theme for Hello Elementor offered. Ultimately, a child theme is little more than a functions.php file and a style.css stylesheet. Install both the theme itself and the child theme with the same name. Activate the child theme and you can edit these files there. If you upgrade your theme, these files will not be overwritten if you changed them.
After you have installed the theme, you will see that there is really little of a theme, which is also the intention. There are no sidebars, no footer and no header. There are no theme settings as other themes have and you cannot adjust anything via the WP customizer. Everything is left to Elementor with this theme, but don't worry because Elementor can do everything.
Elementor allows you to construct the complete pages and posts through sections and columns using its templates as shown below.
ELEMENTOR PAGE DESIGNS
You don't have to build everything yourself, of course. Elementor offers demo layouts for pages from which you can start the design. This is something that premium themes also offer, but Elementor can do the same and more as most of these themes.
Despite the fact that Elementor Free is a nice page builder, the difference with Elementor Pro is huge. Only here will you get full control over your header, footer, and hundreds of demo designs. The Pro version contains 50+ extra widgets compared to the free version, form builders and a sea of options for shops with Woocommerce. It is highly recommended to upgrade to Elementor Pro. Via the button below you can read my review for Elementor Pro.
You have come to the end of my Ocean-WP vs Hello comparison. I have Ocean-WP ranked # 2 in the best Woocommerce themes for here for a reason. Although Hello itself does not appear in that list as a theme, Hello + Elementor also makes the most beautiful web shops. That is because a page builder is not automatically supplied and only Hello is not suitable for web shops without Elementor. We can safely say that both load super fast and are particularly good for web shops. If you are going to build a normal website or blog, however, choose Elementor because there is much more possible with it. If you can afford it, the best combo is of course Ocean-WP + Elementor.
