Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder Comparison [2022] 💥

Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder

GUTENBERG vs FUSION-BUILDER

Today we are going to compare Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder for [2022]. There are quite a few differences between these 2 page builders. We show the latest upgrades and future of both page builders. Gutenberg comes standard with Wordpress and does not have a pro version, Fusion-Builder basically comes for free with the Avada Theme which costs $ 60.

GUTENBERG (Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder)

Gutenberg Wordpress editor review

When Gutenberg was just out, I was shocked. Where was the Wordpress editor? It is then thought to be an improvement and is trying to work with it. I quickly found out it was the biggest mess possible. What a disappointment. In this Gutenberg Wordpress editor review for [2022] we look at whether more people are not happy with this and what the future holds.

Gutenberg editor Ratings

For starters, on the plugin page itself, let's see what the ratings are for it.

Gutenberg editor review ratings

An average rating of 2 stars. Of the approximately 3000 people who gave a rating, 2100 gave the minimum number of 1 star, if they could have rated 0, they probably would have. On the other hand, there were 600 people that gave a 5 star rating. I had to think how this is possible, but you know the internet as well as I do and it is customary to always give the maximum 5 stars even if you are not so happy to please the builders of something. In this Gutenberg review, we therefore note that the majority of people think it is a rubbish heap, just like me.

Disable Gutenberg

To get rid of the terrible Gutenberg editor, there are several plugins. We take a closer look at 2, the first is "Disable Gutenberg".

Above, it can be seen that out of the practically 500 people who rated this plugin that has been installed over 5 million times, all but 4 gave it all 5 stars, so glad they got rid of Gutenberg for good.

Classic Wordpress editor

The "Classic Editor" plugin is from Wordpress itself and will be there at least until 2022 as they apparently know for themselves that Gutenberg is no good. Apparently they think they can make something of it in a year or two. The problem will be that practically everyone has hated it by then. Well, millions of people use this plugin and its ratings can be found below.

The editor itself

On paper, Gutenberg is a WYSIWIG front-end page builder. When you use the word page builder you probably think of a Divi-like experience but forget it quickly. Gutenberg is very slow (too much Javascript) and works very clumsy. The image below gives an image of what you will be presented in the back-end and front-end, you have to do with that. The only thing that can be considered positive is that when you "paste" a large text with titles and blocks of text, the editor itself divides everything into blocks. I say positive, but some people may prefer to take control of it themselves, so it can be very annoying.

Gutenberg with certain themes

In combination with good themes like Astra or Generatepress is the worksheet a bit more attractive as shown in the pictures below. Despite that, there is still no comparison with really good editors out there today like Divi, Elementor and Thrive.

Gutenberg guinea pigs

In principle, we as Wordpress users are used to test the Gutenberg editor until after a year or 4 it can finally be used properly. Obviously this is concealed, it is pretended to be a fantastic improvement in Wordpress. Otherwise everyone would immediately disapprove of the editor, which is already the case with the ratings. People are not crazy, of course.

I will not go into all the small details, Gutenberg is completely BETA and should first be tested well for a few years without being in Wordpress. Furthermore, there is a lot missing in the editor, it is confusing, slow and not precise.

My advice regarding Gutenberg

First of all, thank you for reading my Gutenberg editor review to the end. My advice is simple. Do not work with this editor to avoid disappointments and errors. Immediately install one of the 2 plugins discussed above that will make Gutenberg disappear and restore the old familiar Wordpress editor.

If you are willing to incur some cost to work with a good editor, it is best to purchase the Divi Theme, with the Divi Builder (pagebuilder) already in it. This is the cream of the crop in this area and you will not regret it.

FUSION-BUILDER (Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder)

Fusion-Builder is included by default in the beloved Avada-Theme...

Fusion-Builder review

The Fusion-Builder has been around for years in the Avada Theme. Although the page builder would certainly be suitable for use as a separate plugin in other themes, that has still not happened. I don't think the contracts they have with Envato allow that though the Fusion Builder could be sold as a plugin through that same marketplace. Well, if you want to work with the Fusion-Builder you need the Avada Theme.

FUSION-BUILDER PAGEBUILDER/EDITOR

The Fusion builder is a responsive front-end page builder. The page builder works accurately, quickly and well, there is nothing else to say about it. In their own words, Fusion-Builder is the best Front-end Editor. I doubt that very much because in the first place they all say that but I have experience with practically all top page builders and certainly know better ones. I do want to say right away that Fusion-Builder is definitely participating in the top.

FUSION-BUILDER REVIEW: ELEMENTS

The Fusion-Builder counts all together 70+ widgets (also called elements). This is a large number because popular page builders like UX-Builder and Brizy only offer around 45+. I show some of these widgets below, if you want to see them all go to this page.

Fusion-Builder Review: Elements

FUSION-BUILDER'S EDITOR

Fusion-Builder is an inline text editor which means you can write directly on the page wherever you want as shown below. Nowadays all top page builders have such a text editor, but Fusion-Builder also has what it takes to keep up with the top.

FUSION-BUILDER MOBILE EDITING

Fusion-Builder can be used to work on websites via mobile. Despite everything working properly, I would never do this because it is very inconvenient compared to working via desktop. An exception would be if I was on the road and suddenly noticed errors in an important site. All top page builders can do this by the way.

FUSION-BUILDER: TEMPLATES LIBRARY

We are talking about a library of over 120+ pre-processed sections and elements. In addition, Avada also offers 85+ complete demo websites. This is something that both good themes and page builders have in their arsenal these days. However, the numbers at Avada are quite large.

FUSION-BUILDER: SPEED

It is a bit more difficult to calculate speed with page builders than with themes. What we can do here is check the speed of the Fusion builders theme website. The results of this test at GtMetrix are below. These are very good numbers which means to me that their programmers know a lot about optimizing for speed.

FUSION-BUILDER & WOOCOMMERCE

Like the best-selling page builders like Elementor Fusion-Builder has a Theme Builder. Allows you to customize parts of the layout that should look the same on all pages. This includes the footer, the header and any additional sections that you want to see on all pages.

FUSION-BUILDER & AVADA THEME

Of course, as mentioned before, you get the Fusion-Builder in the Avada Theme. Not me personally, but there are quite a few people who think that it is one of the best Wordpress themes. It must be said that the theme is certainly not bad and very versatile. It offers a dashboard with maybe 1000 settings, pop ups, everything can be customized, most things can be styled by yourself such as search pages, 404 pages, footers, headers, and portfolio post layouts. If you work with the Fusion-Builder, you automatically have all of that included. Read all about the Avada Theme here.

FUSION-BUILDER REVIEW CONCLUSION

Despite the fact that the page builder is quite okay, the price is very high, namely 60 dollars per website on which you want to install it. That is unfortunately the case with everything that is sold through Themeforest. Definitely recommended, but expensive and of course there are better pagebuilders than Fusion.

GUTENBERG VS FUSION-BUILDER CONCLUSION

Thank you for reading this Gutenberg vs Fusion-Builder review. What these page builders have in common is that they both come for free, one in Wordpress itself and the other in a premium theme. You have already read that I am very unhappy about Gutenberg, and if I had to choose 1 of these page builders, I strongly prefer the Fusion-Builder. Of course there are much better pagebuilders.
